The slim eyehole is a major improvement on lower grade needles as this allows for less bulk and an easier time pulling the needle through a hole. I use these personally on every hand stitched project.
Size 002
Generally used for sewing thicker items like bags, knife sheaths, pouches, straps, holsters. A 6 or 7 stitch per inch looks best, and use a size thread with thickness between 0.8mm to 1.0mm
Size 004
Generally used for sewing thinner items like wallets, small cases, watch straps, notebooks and finer detail work on bags etc. An 8 or 9 stitch per inch looks best, and use a size thread with thickness between 0.6mm to 0.8mm
