After a brief pause, I am now able to ship items into the E.U. and the U.K. Back in 2021 both the E.U. and U.K. enacted several new import laws that made life difficult for a small business like mine. Suddenly there were incredibly complex requirements for selling items to all of my fans over in Europe. Even something as simple as a keychain sale was going to need additional paperwork, tax filings, registrations, and partnerships with new and vague import companies based within the E.U. At the time I simply did not have the manpower to handle all of the extra work required, so shipping there went on hold. Laws like this may have been designed to hamper small business commerce while streamlining the ability of bigger corporations. Can you imagine who might have benefited from that? I wont name names!
Well, as it turns out – there is a bit of fine print in those laws that allow for a few workarounds. As of last week – if you are based in the U.K. or E.U. – you are free to order anything in the shop. Just note that all shipments into these areas will require the payment of any VAT or Duty fees upon delivery of the item. Most Europeans are familiar with these taxes and it is just part of the cost of enjoying finely handcrafted goods from the U.S.A.
