Patina on an Aged Leather Belt

aged leather belt

Here’s a glimpse of how my full grain leather belts age over time. The top one is mine and I’ve been wearing it for around 2 to 3 years now everyday. I still use the same middle hole too so it has not stretched much (a key advantage of the high grade, U.S. Full-Grain leather I use). You’ll notice the nice natural darkening it gets around the edges due to handling and sliding on and off the buckle. The brown color just gets crisper, deeper and more rich with every week. Originally it looked similar to the Western Brown belt on the bottom (color is a bit washed out due to the camera!) Within about 2 weeks of wearing one you’ll notice the change in patina development, it’s fun to watch.

I’ve got a large assortment of belts I can make for you, just head on over to the belt category page here.
